You all have been asking me what I think about the RevAir and I got my hands on one to give you a thorough review! <watch the full tutorial>

This review features the RevAir device and the RevAir Accessory Kit (sold separately).

RevAir

Prep PRO-TIPS:

  • You definitely want to avoid using any product that will froth like foams or heavy creams because it’s going to get caught in the hose and make it sticky and potentially make your hair tangle in the wand.
  • You want your hair to be damp, not soaking or dripping wet.
  • Because the RevAir’s max temperature is only 220 degrees and it is not direct heat, so you don’t need a heat protectant unless you are intending to flat iron or use curling irons or wands afterwards.
  • Make sure your sections are not larger than the opening of the wand so you get the smoothest results and you’re not putting too much hair in the device at once.
  • Make sure your sections are very well detangled before inserting them in the wand. (I am using the Tangle Teezer brush in this demo.)

Read the instructions before you use the device!

I started on tension level 2 as the instructions said and gradually increased it to level 7 as she confirmed her comfort. Make sure you aren’t pumping the wand up and down too much so you don’t cause the section to tangle as the air in the wand moves around it.

What makes the RevAir different?

The RevAir is not a blow dryer, it is a reverse air hair dryer. So, what does that mean exactly? With traditional blow dryers, the air is moving out of the device toward the hair usually with ionic technology that wicks moisture way as you stretch the hair. The RevAir is gently drawing moisture out of the hair in reverse by pulling the hair into the enclosed wand with tension and a friction-free wind funnel, negating the need for higher heat. The internal sensors maintain even heat flow and temp. The maximum heat setting is 220 degrees, the low heat setting is 158 degrees, and there is also a room temp or cool shot setting.

Benefits:

  • Easy to use - if you struggle with coordinating your hands to maneuver a blow dryer and brush, the Rev Air does both and you only need one hand.
  • Smooth results - if you are not great at getting smooth results when blow drying, this will feel like a come-up for you.
  • Maintains health of hair - if breakage or over-manipulation is a concern, it is a lot gentler because you are not pulling a brush through the section over and over.
  • Gentle on all hair types - for tender-headed little girls who hate getting their hair done, this dryer will stop those tears and save your sanity.
  • Versatility - for times when you want to stretch your hair for a style or before getting braids installed, this will do it with a lot less effort and energy.
  • Time-saver - you can use this to dry locs, braids, wigs and other extensions in a fraction of the time.
  • No heat damage - there’s no risk of heat or curl pattern damage because the heat level is so low.

Total time: 30 minutes versus 45+ minutes with traditional brush and blow dryer (with focused effort and lots of energy exerted).

My overall assessment on the RevAir is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The quality is worth the price! This is a good investment if you stretch your hair even a few times a year for styles or braids and you can easily use this on kids’ hair.
