My first memories of hair styling are me cutting and curling my dolls’ hair and then my own by the fifth grade. Initially, my mother was not too thrilled about me essentially ruining these toys she’d spent her hard-earned money to buy for me, but she let me do it, and I’m so glad she did. I was always interested in how I could create looks and it came so naturally to me! I also had the opportunity to learn professional hair care methods from licensed stylists and salon owners in my family.

For many years, I helped countless friends and family members care for their hair which became my motivation for creating MoKnowsHair – to take the mystery out of healthy hair care and styling.

MoKnowsHair® was founded in September 2013 as a resource for textured hair care and styling. I completed my cosmetology certification at Aveda Institute New York on full scholarship from the brand in 2016. For the following three years I owned and operated a salon in Manhattan where I helped hundreds of women, men and children with textured hair learn to care for their hair while giving them beautiful style, shape and color.

MoKnowsHair Curl Collection was originally launched in 2019 in retail and was available until the end of 2022 due to pandemic events. Now, the collection is BACK and it's BETTER! Each formula has been elevated and reimagined to enhance performance and help you have the BEST version of your hair.

In the last 11 years I have cut, colored and styled for more than 10,000 hours, created hundreds of instructional tutorials, traveled around the world offering in-person instruction, appeared on TV, attended countless trade shows and quoted in several publications and books all in the name of healthy hair care. It has been my honor to help hundreds of thousands of you embrace and care for your hair and I will always be your healthy hair guide!
